What do you have to do to become a student in Australia?

Click each section below to see the steps.

STEP 1 - Decide what & where you would like to study

Together, you and your knowledgeable education counsellor will discuss the best study pathway to match your long-term goals, interests, and background. Your counsellor will then present course options that match your budget and desired timetable for study. He or she will organise campus tours if this is of interest.

STEP 3 – Receive your Letter of Offer

Once you have successfully been accepted to study, we receive your Letter of Offer from the institution. If you are happy with the terms & conditions, you will sign the document. At this point, you are required to pay either a deposit, or your first instalment of tuition.

STEP 4 – Receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)

When you have officially been enrolled with the institution, we receive your Confirmation of Enrolment. This is the official government document required to lodge your student visa.

STEP 5 – Filling in your Student Visa Application

You will lodge your visa either on paper or online. We will assist you to gather the required documents, and clarify the information you need to include in the application.

STEP 6 - Purchase Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

For the duration of your studies, you must hold Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). Your counselor will advise you on the best company to purchase this from, based on being single, in a couple, or a family.

STEP 7 - Congratulations!

You are now an Australian international student! We will continue to support you throughout your student journey!

Please be aware of the English Language requirements if English is not your first language.

What are the costs to qualify for a student visa?

There are 3 costs you will have to pay to start studying:

  1. Initial deposit, or a first instalment, of your tuition, then ongoing tuition payments every 3-6 months depending on the institution's rules.

  2. Student visa application fee – the fee for the main applicant will either be is $550 or $1,250, depending on your situation.

There is an additional charge for each dependent you add to your visa, ie. wife and child.

  3. Overseas Student Health Cover – you are required to pre-pay your health cover for the duration of your studies. For a single student this is approximately $45 per month, for couples and families the amount is more and will be discussed with your counselor.
